Overall, this book was about 150 pages too long. At its best, Bryson brought unimaginable scientific facts and figures into understandable and fascinating perspective. At its worst, he dove far too deep into nerd details that could have been left out. While definitely not as funny as his other books, I did learn a lot - though I also often got lost in the details.
