Being financially prosperous is not a sin. God never intended for his people to be poor or live in lack. But there are many who belief that financial prosperity is wrong. The scripture above states that when money becomes your only focus and your goal is to get as much money as you can because you love having money more than you love God, then you open the door to all kinds of evil. That is considered coveting money and not seeking God’s promises.
We are not supposed to chase money or be motivated by money. We are supposed to be motivated by the promises of God and live by faith knowing that money will come as long as our focus is on God and not money.
